This Morning's Physical Training

Action: Conduct a 4 mile road march.

Conditions: Fort Benning weather: 70 deg, with 99% humidity; Route of 4.3 miles; 35 pound rucksack/assault bag; PT uniform with boots.

Standards: Complete course within 1 hour, 5 minutes @ a pace of 15 minutes per mile or better. This was our first conditioning roadmarch since our return from Iraq. My fastest pair of Soldiers came in at 58 minutes. I came in next with one of my young studs at 1:00:50. The last group made it in at 1:10, including one of my overweight Soldiers who was wearing a knee brace.
The route included a few hills, especially coming back from Twilight Pond onto Kelley Hill. Not bad for a first go, and the distance will keep increasing.

The route is in my routes on RW.com; click or just search for Fort Benning, GA and scan to the east (right).
